Does help to read book 1 A Touch of Darkness first. Recommended for those who like Greek mythology (some basic knowledge will be helpful) and easy enough for new romance readers.
I am however interested in learning about Hecate more (she's my patron Goddess) and how she'll play a role in the battles to come. I really don't even care about Persephone learning about her powers. The mortal rebellion undercurrent has gained strength and I want to see how that will pan out more than I care about Hades and Persephone's relationship to be honest. The public knows about Hades and Persephone and she's being threatened by someone who wants to out her as a Goddess and the fact that she sort of ignores it until the last second and doesn't at least have an action plan or a backup plan to the hairbrained bullshit she does try is tragic. Her mother is still a major cunt in this one too. There's a major event that sends Persephone into a spiral and causes so many other problems. But after Persephone tells him she wants to know things, he still doesn't reveal too much being pragmatic. He says at one point that 'he's been alone for millenia so he's not used to having someone interested in what he does' and that hits the reader hard and you forgive him for not sharing things. Hades is the king of withholding information as well. Her insecurities drive her to do and say really dumb things in this book (and the first one but I was giving her some leeway because it was her first real relationship/life experience) that make you want to shake her. She had success with one article making Hades more likeable and getting him to show the mortals he's actually a good guy and now she thinks she's the answer to getting Olympians to being better. She rushes headlong into stupid situations without thinking and causes so many problems for herself because she just doesn't stop to think before she goes and does something.
